Upon arrival at Eagle Island, Guest Services will conduct a brief orientation and then depart, leaving you and your guest(s) alone to explore and enjoy your very own private, ten-acre island! Eagle Island is accessible only by boat, which ensures the utmost privacy and anonymity.  Round-trip boat transportation is provided with each visit.

Eagle Lodge boasts all the modern conveniences and accessories including a state-of-the-art chef's kitchen stocked with kitchen wares, Direct TV, wireless internet, bed and bath linens, a commercial ice machine, and an outdoor fire pit. A six-person hot tub is ingeniously located in front of an outdoor fireplace on the 1500-square-foot, wraparound, screened porch.

Eagle Lodge comfortably sleeps twelve guests. There are two bedrooms with a queen bed in each; the loft has two twin beds that can be converted to a king. There is a 700-square foot master suite located on ground level with a queen bed and two sets of bunk beds (four beds total).

Marsh House is a newly built home located on the edge of a large saltwater marsh and estuary system.  Quiet and secluded with wonderul wildlife viewing.  Large master suite opens onto wrap around deck.  If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax you will find it in the 1,600+ square foot home.  The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and includes a claw foot tub for soaking and a roomy stall shower.  Bedrooms two and three contain twin beds.  The house sleeps six and has two baths.  Linens are provided.  The Full Kitchen has a dishwasher, ice maker, microwave and full array of cooking utensils provided. The Deck contains a grill and the Dock, with tidal creek access, is great for kayaking.  Smoking and pets are not allowed.

With so much to do in this quaint, historic town, the cottage is a great location for your getaway or vacation.  The house has three bedrooms decorated in coastal decor.  Two of the berooms ahve very comfortable queen size beds and the third bedroom has a cozy full/double.  Three is also a pull out sleeper sofa in the living room that is a full/double. 

THe house is approximately 1,400 square feet with a beautiful living room with hard wood floors, gas fireplace, coastal furniture, all perfect for relaxing after a day on the boat or at the beach.

There is also a dining room furnished for six at a beautiful oak wood dining table.  If you want to cook up your catch or just have a snack the kitchen is equipted with cooking necessities, dinnerware, and paper products. 

There is an additional eating/recreation room at the rear of the cottage.  The two bathrooms both have showers, and one of them also has a standard sized tub.  The house has a large fenced yard and a deck/patio for grilling.

Your base camp will be The Retreat, an upstairs apartment with its own private deck, a great place for morning coffee and breakfast, unwinding after your day out on the island or stargazing at night.  You will have a separate bedroom with a queen size bed, built in bunk beds for two, a sitting area with futon (can sleep 2 more), a full bathroom, full kitchen and pine dining nook.

Two bicycles are furnished with the rental and guests are furnished transportation during their stay.

Generall, you have to bring your food and beach towels because restaurants are scarce.  If you're lucky to be here when she's cooking you may get to eat at Lula's Kitchen where local food is served in abundance and in the Gullah/Geechee style.

Featured in EMC Georgia Magazine, The Weekender is owned and operated by Oscar and Nancy Banks of Hog Hammock Community on Sapelo Island.  The accomodations consist of four bedrooms with communal kitchen and a three-bedroom unit.  Sapelo is rustic and peaceful.  Beaches stretching as far as the eye can see define the Sapelo Experience. Scattered across the island, visitors will see evidence of the island's settlement, including Reynold's Chocolate House cottage, a landing strip, old post office and ruins of several tabby-constructed structures dating back to plantation days. Guests may bring their own food and supplies. Guided public tours of the island are conducted by Oscar and Nancy, who are descendents of original inhabitants of Hog Hammock.
